Meditating Mamas: Mindfulness...
followed by winefulness!
with Erin McCarthy
This 3 hour workshop will introduce you to mindfulness and mindful self-compassion practices designed specifically for busy mamas of kids of all ages! We all know how joyful, busy and stressful the life of a mom can be. In this workshop we’ll explore how mindfulness and self-compassion can help us move through the challenging times with more ease, and how to be more present for the joyful times, so that we can be less stressed, and more loving so that we can help both ourselves and our children to blossom and flourish.
And that’s not all...the workshop is followed by a free glass of wine (or other beverage of your choice) and a social hour (appetizers available for purchase). So grab your besties and come for some mindful self care!
(This workshop is appropriate for everyone — if you’re a beginner you’ll get introduced to some great techniques and if you’re an experienced practitioner you’ll be able to deepen your practice and learn how to apply it to parenting).
Erase negative effects of stress caused by daily living, repetitive motions, sports training or too much sitting! This workshop features MELT® self-massage and core stability techniques. Are you curious about mindfulness? Interested in learning how to meditate? Discover why so many people are incorporating this simple yet effective way to help quiet the mind, increase attention and awareness, and build resilience.
Ottawa Meditation & Wellness, in collaboration with Metta Movement & Meditation Studio, will be offering a three-hour introductory workshop on these powerful mental health practices that allow us to see what’s going on in our lives more clearly and discover new ways of relating to stress.
This 2,600-year-old Buddhist practice is now widely used in Western medicine and psychology to reduce stress and anxiety, lift mood, and promote overall health and well-being. Mindfulness is to the mind what physical exercise is to the body: a way to stay fit, flexible, and focused.
This workshop is a great opportunity to experience what mindfulness is and to leave being able to start a basic practice of your own.
